Ten Layer Cake
I baked a cake last yesterday for my bunco group. I went over to the Bakerella blog, cause she always has delicious ideas, and there she had posted a fourteen layer cake. I didn't have enough cake batter for fourteen, only ten. But it turned out awesome, and was so easy to do! I wish I had taken a better photo, but you get the idea.

Another Year of Disneyland
I was able to purchase annual passes to Disneyland this year. I am so excited, my brother and Kim have theirs, and our best friends have them too. It's such a fun thing to do with the kids, and if you plan well, you never have to spend money in the park. We pack lunches and snacks, and parking is included in my pass. Wednesday night we went and got our photo's for our passes taken, and hung out for a little while. Today I took the boys by myself for a few hours in the pouring rain. What a difference to go to theme parks when you don't have to lug a stroller around! It's also nice that Matt is at the age where he enjoys all the rides now. We shall get our money's worth and then some, this year.

Surf City Half Marathon

Today was the dreaded thirteen point one mile run in Huntington Beach. Brett's sister Michele came down and spent the night, she is the one who talked me into doing it in the first place. We got up at five thirty in the morning and went to Huntington. There were 18,000 participants. Michele is all good at running, she finished an hour before me. But you know what? I finished that run in three hours and ten minutes. I think that's pretty darn good, because before today, I have only ever run six miles without stopping. Today I ran seven miles without stopping, jog/walked five miles and ran the last mile. Hardest thing I have ever done. I got a medal. I am going to wear it everyday.
And then, I got in the car and noticed a problem with my feet. I could feel the blisters already, they were to be expected, and my legs are in major pain, not unusual. Around mile 9, I felt like something was wrong with my big toes, like something was poking them. When I took my socks off, one of my toes was black and already lifting off. The other one hurts, but isn't black. Michele said it happens a lot when you do a long distance run. It happened to her the first time she did a half marathon. I do not like things wrong with my toes. It's really freaking me out! I took a picture, but I don't know if I should put it on here. It's pretty gross. Would any one want to see my black toe? Brett took the above photo when we got home today. I could barely walk at that point.
